After An Epic Summer, The I-90s Are Looking Ahead To Fall…

First of all, this summer has been sooooo great, and we know we have all of you to thank for making it that way…So, thanks! But, now the weather is turning a little chillier, the NFL season is underway, and it is clear that Fall is in fact imminent. And, we have every intention of keeping the 90s rock party going strong right into Autumn! Shows in September include our final 2014 trip to Geneva, OH on September 20th at Sportsterz and our inaugural show at Docksiders on September 26th (7-10) so let’s make them worth remembering regardless of whether we end up recalling them or not. Also, even though The I-90s as a band have opted out of Rock Erie Music Awards contention (Note: Our drummer Joe is up for an individual award for favorite drummer); we have agreed to play the REMA’s Official After-Party at Sherlock’s on Sunday, September 28th. We will go on shortly after the ceremony ends (approximately 9:30). So, whether you attend the REMA’s or not, be sure to come on down and congratulate all of the great nominees/winners while rocking out to the music of the 90s for a special Sunday night performance! Summer was great, but let’s make Fall even better! See you all real...

Thank You Sherlock’s For Getting Crazy With Us!

We just wanted to send out a big THANK YOU to everyone who came out and went absolutely NUTS with us last weekend at Sherlock’s! We had an absolute BLAST rocking out with you guys and gals! Personally, I had chills when I started into “Champagne Supernova” and I heard what sounded like every single person in the packed club singing along with me at the top of their lungs! You guys were AWESOME. This entire summer has been so amazing, and we know very well that we owe that to all of you crazy people that have been coming out and partying with us! Also, a big shout out to BUD LIGHT and ERIE BEER is in order for being so great to us! We love you guys! This summer has flown by so quickly; it’s hard to believe that we only have ONE SUMMER SHOW left on the calendar. We will be rocking one of the nicest venues in Erie, The Sloppy Duck, August 30th from 8-12. It will be your last chance to party with us while cracking a Bud Light or Bud Light Lime outside under the warm summer sun so DON’T MISS IT! Thanks again to everyone who has been making what we do so much fun. Oh, and lots of new additions to the set list are on their way! I can’t wait to bust them out in a couple weeks at the Duck! See you on the 30th…...

Attention! The August 1st Ugly Tuna Show Has Been Cancelled Due To LCB “No Fun Allowed Outside” Rules.

Monday, July 21st, 2014 | 0 comments

Attention! The August 1st Ugly Tuna Show Has Been Cancelled Due To LCB “No Fun Allowed Outside” Rules.

Unfortunately, our August 1st Ugly Tuna date has been cancelled due to LCB noise regulation issues they have been dealing with lately. The Ugly Tuna will still have acoustic entertainment that night, but the I-90s were deemed too “Rock ‘n Roll” for the outdoor gig there. We apologize for any inconvenience, but it was out of our hands. Also, we would like to stress that this was not the fault of the Ugly Tuna in any way, shape, or form either. They are currently in talks about how to make the outdoor rock festivities continue, and we will keep you posted about any possible upcoming dates at one of the area’s newest and hottest party spots. On a brighter note, you aren’t going to want to miss our July 26th Sherlock’s show with special guests Smash Cake opening up the night for us! It’s going to be a lot of fun rocking out with those guys! On a side note; our drummer Joe will be out of town so we will be rocking out with the supremely talented, Tony Fosco behind the kit. He blew us away in rehearsal, and it will no doubt be a BLAST rocking out with him for the night! You definitely don’t want to miss this one! We have been playing a lot of family friendly shows lately, and we are primed and ready to ROCK THE F**K out of Sherlock’s! Don’t get the wrong idea, the PG shows have been a TON of fun these past few weeks (Thanks in large part to you guys!), but it’s certainly going to feel nice to bust out a little Rage Against The Machine this Saturday! Don’t miss...

A Big Round Of Applause For Aaron Forsyth Please!

Well, Sportsterz and The Sloppy Duck have come and gone and our good buddy Aaron Forsyth CRUSHED it filling in on the bass guitar! It was truly an honor to share the stage with such a great friend/musician. We were even treated to a special guest appearance, all the way from Chicago, by original I-90 and local legend Mike Ohm for a couple tunes at the Duck! What an awesome couple weeks! Next up is the Bash On The Bay at Rumrunners Cove (6-10) on July 16th. And for all you ladies out there…Don’t worry; our lovable bearded teddy bear, Mr. David Sabatine, will be back rockin’ the bass and bringing the sexy! See you crazy people on the...

Thank You Erie For a Great Kickoff to Summer 2014 at The Block Party!

Well, the rain held off afterall, and the Sullivan’s Block Party was JAMMED and rockin’! We had an absolute BLAST! Thanks so much to everyone who made it so awesome. That was just the beginning of what is sure to be a WILD summer for The I-90s. And, if rockin’ out to 90s rock and enjoying a cold Bud Light under the warm summer sun sounds like a good time to you then we will certainly have you covered this summer. There’s the Bash On The Bay at Rumrunners Cove on July 16th (6-10), the Ugly Tuna August 1st (6-9), and a couple Sloppy Duck dates still on the horizon for this summer! Ladies and Gentlemen… Mr. Joe Cimino!

Ladies and Gentlemen… Mr. Joe Cimino!

Hey everybody! We’re beyond excited to welcome the newest member into the I-90s family… drummer Joe Cimino. Many of you probably know Joe from his stellar playing in Super No.7, The Cover Up and Seattle. Now you’ll have the pleasure of listening to him tear the walls down with The I-90s. Having several rehearsals and one show under our belts now, we’re breathing a collective sigh of relief. Joe has not only made this transition a much easier one, but has also exceeded our expectations. It’s never easy to step into a situation such as ours and take flight from day one, but Joe has done just that, and we couldn’t be happier. Joe is a true professional, an amazing player, and… well, just one hell of a great guy! Please join us in welcoming Joe to our family at the many shows we have lined up throughout the summer months. You’re in for a treat!...

Goodbye, Derek… Best of Luck!

Goodbye, Derek… Best of Luck!

It is with tears and very heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our original drummer and amazing friend, Derek Tomporowski, who is migrating South to rejoin family in Florida. I have personally known (and have been playing with) Derek since just shy of his 15th birthday. Starting with Freezer Burn, morphing into the mighty Superbasket, and most recently with The I-90s, I have had the pleasure of enjoying Derek’s talents in abundance on stage, in rehearsals and during impromptu jam sessions. But beyond his prowess on the skins and shells, Derek has simply been one of my very best friends. I have had the chance to watch him grow both as a player and person. I’ve shared deeply sad moments and unbelievably great times throughout our friendship. I once had a saying that summed up my thoughts on Superbasket (Mr. Mike Ohm, we still miss the hell out of you, too)… and that saying is that “Superbasket wasn’t a band, it was a family.” That saying couldn’t be more true to this day, because it’s the very same feeling with The I-90s. We’re not just losing a drummer… we’re not just losing a friend… we’re losing a part of our family. But in our sadness comes opportunity for Derek, and I know that I speak for every member of this musical family when I say… Derek, we love you, and we wish you the best of luck, the best of health… the best of everything! We’ll miss you, brother! Your friend,...
